Recap of the Strategic Year Investor Day 2025
Last week, our team at Strategic Year gathered in Hong Kong for our company offsite and Investor Day, bringing our colleagues from all regions together in person. The gathering took place in the wake of the tragic fire incident in Tai Po that deeply affected the city. Before beginning our program, we paused to hold a moment of silence for the victims and their families, and we expressed our appreciation to everyone who have supported them.
Against this backdrop, we convened our Investor Day on 5 Dec 2025, bringing together investors and companies to explore perspectives across capital, technology, and innovation. Nine esteemed speakers joined us to share their insights and experiences.
Our Founder Conrad Tsang opened the afternoon with reflections on long-term capital formation and the evolving landscape of regional VC/PE investments. Albert Wong drew on his leadership at HKSTP to discuss Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem. Alwin Kwock offered perspectives on AI and financial infrastructure, while Professor Francis Chan shared insights from his work in microbiome research and commercialisation. Victor Yim, Head of AI and Data Science at Hong Kong Cyberport, delivered closing remarks on Hong Kong's AI development and the infrastructure supporting emerging builders.
We heard from founders charting paths forward in their respective fields: Brandon Ng of Ampd Energy, Tomy Y. of Cakap, Sheldon Li of Buy&Ship, Victor Tseng of KKday, and Prof. Martin ZHU of i2Cool Limited – representing progress across clean energy, education, logistics, travel, and cooling technology.
To all colleagues, partners, guests, and speakers who joined us: thank you. Your presence brought meaning and positive energy to this gathering during a solemn time in Hong Kong
