Good news for the week! Our portfolio company- Buyandship has recently secured USD 10 million in funding from Cool Japan Fund,a government-backed fund from Japan.This marks the commencement of their USD 15 million Series B funding round, which is expected to be completed within the next three months.
Strategic Year was instrumental in connecting Buyandship with Cool Japan Fund,facilitated communications on both sides,and provided due diligence support during the process. Prior to closing the Series B round,Hong Kong was suffering from severe typhoons and rainstorms.The management team braved the heavy winds and rains to focus on closing the financing. This funding empowers Buyandship to widen its Southeast Asian expansion.Currently, Buyandship enjoys a strong presence in key markets such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has been actively operating in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. Now the company is strategically targeting promising markets in Vietnam,Thailand, Indonesia and more.
